Goals / Remit
Short-term Electricity Market Operator – OKTE, a.s. started its activities on 1 January 2011. OKTE, a.s. was established as a subsidiary of the Slovak TSO. It is authorised to act as a Short-term Electricity Market Operator in the Slovak Republic and on 1 December 2019, it was re-designated by the Slovak NRA as a Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) for performing tasks related to single day-ahead and single intraday market coupling processes. OKTE, a.s. shall treat all electricity market participants based on open, transparent and non-discriminatory approach when providing services. The company organises and evaluates the organised short-term cross-border electricity market and provides clearing of imbalances in the Slovak Republic, as well as administration of central metering and invoicing systems. As of 2020, OKTE, a.s. has become the entity responsible for the management of the RES support scheme and trading and management of guarantees of origin.
