Transnational Alliance to Combat Illicit Trade   (TRACIT)

    EU Transparency Register

    655384148086-23 First registered on 10 Nov 2022

    Goals / Remit

TRACIT is an independent, private sector initiative to drive change and mitigate the economic and social damages of illicit trade by strengthening government enforcement mechanisms and mobilizing businesses across industry sectors most impacted by illicit trade. TRACIT draws from industry strengths and market experience to build habits of cooperation between business, government and the diverse group of countries that have limited capacities for regulatory enforcement. Connecting and mobilizing businesses across industries, sectors and national borders makes it possible to achieve results more effectively than any single actor can accomplish alone. TRACIT members have a common interest to reduce and mitigate the social and economic consequences of illicit trade across 12 sectors: agri-foods, alcohol, counterfeiting, fisheries, forestry, pesticides, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, precious metals and gemstones, tobacco, trafficking in persons and forced labor, and wildlife.

    Main EU files targeted

The main subject areas that we target are trade, anti-illicit trade, human rights and sustainable development policies.
