    Goals / Remit

POSCO is one of the world’s leading high-quality steelmakers. POSCO enhances customer value by developing innovative products and providing solution marketing. POSCO manufactures eight major types of high-quality steel products, as well as battery components, which are key inputs to a number of European industries, from automotive to energy.

    Main EU files targeted

POSCO follows EU trade policy (especially all measures that apply to trade in steel) and single market policy. POSCO is strongly impacted by the EU's safeguard measures on steel, and therefore have a particular interest in these.

    Complementary Information

POSCO is increasing its engagement with the European institutions, and opened its Brussels office in late 2019. At present, ten members of staff at POSCO are involved in activities falling under the scope of the Transparency Register, although nine of these spend a small proportion of their total time on these activities.

We expect that certain employees will devote more time to activities covered by the Register over time. We will update this section if the number of employees or their involvement in activities falling under the scope of the Transparency Register increases significantly.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
