Goals / Remit
The European NGOs for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Population and Development (EuroNGOs) is the largest European platform of NGOs that collaborate on SRHR issues in development cooperation and global policy.
Established in 1996, it brings together 36 SRHR non-governmental organisations of which 29 are European members based in 22 EU Member States across the continent, five are associate members including European CSOs/parliamentary networks as well as two observers (IPPF EN and UNFPA). The EuroNGOs is a broad, diverse and inclusive platform with members ranging from large organizations with an international presence to smaller, specialist organizations working in certain regions or with specific groups of people. The network is governed by a Steering Committee elected by our members for a two-year mandate and supported by a Brussels-based Secretariat, hosted by IPPF EN, who also serves as fiscal agent.
Ultimate goal & Vision
SRHR is both a human right and a key factor in well-being, poverty reduction and economic development. The EuroNGOs works towards a sustainable world without poverty where all individuals enjoy good sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing and are empowered to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights, in line with the ICPD Programme of Action.
To this end the EuroNGOs works to support its members’ capacity to advocate individually and collectively at European and global level for comprehensive and progressive SRHR policies, programs and funding that contribute to achieving the objectives of the ICPD Programme of Action and the attainment of the MDGs, as well as to ensure that SRHR is a central pillar of the post-2015 global framework.Main EU files targeted
