    Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. verfolgt auf christlich-demokratischer Grundlage ausschließlich und unmittelbar gemeinnützige Zwecke. Sie wird insbesondere

    - politische Bildung vermitteln,
    - die geschichtliche Entwicklung der christlich-demokratischen Bewegung erforschen und dokumentieren,
    - durch Forschung und Beratung Grundlagen politischen Wirkens erarbeiten,
    - die europäische Einigung unterstützen, die internationale Verständigung durch Informationen und Begegnungen pflegen sowie mit entwicklungspolitischen Projekten und Programmen Hilfe leisten,

    - die wissenschaftliche Aus- und Fortbildung begabter und charakterlich geeigneter junger Menschen fördern,

    Zur Wahrnehmung dieser Aufgaben setzt die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. ihre ideellen, personellen und materiellen Möglichkeiten im In- und Ausland ein.

    Die Finanzierung aus öffentlichen Mitteln muss nach deutschem Haushaltsrecht von der KAS als Zuwendungen des Bundes (Innenministerium, Ministerium für Forschung und Bildung, Auswärtiges Amt, Ministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit, etc) bzw. der Länder und anderer Gebietskörperschaften verbucht werden.
    Die Kosten für die Tätigkeit in Brüssel errechnen sich aus dem Gesamtetat des Europabüros Brüssel der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. 45 Prozent des Etats sind sogenannte Projektmittel zur Finanzierung öffentlicher Veranstaltungen (Konferenzen, Seminare, Vortragsveranstaltungen, etc) und Besucherdelegationen von Partnern der KAS innerhalb der EU und aus Drittstaaten. Die restlichen Mittel verteilen sich auf Personal- und Verwaltungskosten sowie Infrastruktur.
