Goals / Remit
The organization's primary goal is to stimulate, strengthen and promote economic and business relations between Sri Lanka and the 28 member countries of the European Union.
The other goals are as follows:
To contribute to trade and investment flows and foster business co-operation
To promote investment and commercial interests of companies
To collect and disseminate key market statistics and other information on trade and industry to its members

Communication activities
The European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka has been instrumental in the organization of the following in the last year -
Organization of Trade Missions to Sri Lanka from Austria and Denmark
Organization of information sessions for best practices in the Maritime, Transport and Logistics sector
The chamber has been instrumental in advocating for changes in the maritime sector of Sri Lanka. The main focus this year was the call to government agencies to act in the best interest when setting a process to implement the container weight verification regulation implemented by the International Maritime Organization.
The chamber is also heavily involved in Sri Lanka's GSP plus application process. The chamber has organized forums and round table discussions between stakeholders to ensure that the information provided to the private sector is accurate and informative.Other activities
