    ASOCIACION ESPAÑOLA DEL GAS   (SEDIGAS)

    EU Transparency Register

    187982333602-44 First registered on 08 Jan 2019

    Goals / Remit

Since its establishment in 1970, Sedigas has been a driving force in fostering collaboration among all stakeholders to accelerate the energy transition, aiming to strike a balance between environmental sustainability, energy security, economic growth, and consumer well-being.

In the current landscape of energy transformation, Sedigas seeks to communicate to society that natural gas and renewable gases (such as biomethane, hydrogen, and synthetic gas) represent sustainable and efficient energy sources, serving as both a present and future solution.

Moreover, Sedigas acts as the representative body for the gas sector, serving as the main liaison with national, regional, and international authorities. It plays a crucial role in promoting the use of gas through a variety of initiatives and activities led by its Committees and Working Groups, which form the core of its functional structure.

    Main EU files targeted

As a stakeholder, SEDIGAS monitors the initiatives that the Euroepa Union carries out on issues related to natural gas.

Now we are engaging with the Gas package 2021/0425(COD) Gas and hydrogen markets directive, 2021/0424(COD)
Gas and hydrogen markets regulation and 2021/0423(COD) Methane emissions reduction in the energy sector

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
