    Goals / Remit

Dow Corning is a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, offering thousands of products and services to customers world-wide.
Established in Europe for more than 40 years, Dow Corning counts approximately 2000 employees in the region, with manufacturing facilities in Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. The company’s European presence also includes a business and technology center in Seneffe Belgium, an application center in Russia and commercial offices in Poland and Turkey. Between 2005 and 2010, Dow Corning has invested more than 140 million € in its European infrastructures. In 2010, the company also invested an additional €40million in a new distribution center and state-of-the-art research facilities.
Dow Corning is equally owned by The Dow Chemical Company and Corning, Incorporated. It is also the majority shareholder in the Hemlock Semiconductor Group (www.hscpoly.com) joint ventures, a leading provider of polycrystalline silicon and other silicon-based products used in the manufacturing of semiconductor devices and solar cells and modules.
In Dec 2015, Dow Chemical Co. signed an agreement
to restructure the ownership of Dow Corning Corp. Under the terms of the agreement, Dow will acquire Corning’s 50 percent stake in the joint venture and become the 100 percent owner of Dow Corning.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. Closing is expected by mid-2016.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
