Goals / Remit
In a thriving democracy, people can form and contest ideas online, free from exploitation, manipulation, discrimination, and harassment. Yet the spread of mis- and dis-information online shows the risks that the current design and governance of the online information ecosystem can pose to the health of individuals, society, and democracy.
Digital Action’s contribution is to unlock civil society collaboration so it builds shared ideas and collective strength that transform the digital world. We also have a particular focus on the global equity crisis in tech accountability, whereby weak global governance rules as well as poor safeguarding by social media platforms allow the largely unrestricted flow of disinformation, hate speech and abuse in many parts of the world. We seek solutions to this crisis, through building connections between civil society, policymakers and stakeholders in the EU and other major regions.Main EU files targeted
Digital Action targets policies in relation to Sharing Europe's Digital future. In particular, it has acted in collaboration with partners to coordinate research and policy development in relation to the Digital Services Act, and European Democracy Action Plan.

Meetings
1 meetings found. Download meetings
The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
