Goals / Remit
Der Deutsche Forstwirtschaftsrat ist die repräsentative Vertretung aller mit der Forstwirtschaft und dem Wald befassten Akteure in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und setzt sich für die Interessen und Belange einer nachhaltigen Forstwirtschaft ein. Nachhaltige Forstwirtschaft bedeutet für den DFWR, dass Pflege und Bewirtschaftung der Wälder im Interesse ihres gesunden, stabilen und leistungsfähigen Zustandes, ihrer Multifunktionalität durch Nutzung, Schutz und Erholung und im Interesse der Landeskultur und des Umweltschutzes erfolgen – in der Gegenwart und in der Zukunft. Dies ist die Basis für rund 2 Millionen Waldbesitzer in Deutschland, die eine Waldfläche von 11,4 Millionen Hektar – das sind rund 32 % des Bundesgebietes – bewirtschaften.
