Our Purpose
Seventy percent of the earth is made up of water. Water connects worlds and allows us to discover. To trade. To provide help. To produce food and generate energy. To relax and enjoy. In order to ensure global prosperity for next generations and keep the earth habitable with an ever-increasing world population, it is essential that we use the water and the seabed as optimally, but also as responsibly, as possible. At Damen, we provide unprecedented maritime solutions to utilise and protect these possibilities.
Our vision
At Damen, we believe that oceans, seas, lakes and rivers offer humanity a growing range of possibilities in the areas of trade, food, energy and recreation. We offer unprecedented maritime solutions for this through design, shipbuilding, ship repair and related services. We offer versatile platforms to connect the world and enable you to be successful. Innovative ships that inspire and raise the standard in terms of safety, reliability, efficiency,Main EU files targeted
The Damen Shipyards group actively participates in various Horizon 2020 projects through the co-programmed partnership on zero-emission waterborne transport. This is a co-program partnership between the European maritime industry and the European Commission (DG RTD)
Damen Naval (the military department of the Damen Shipyards Group) is active in various projects of the European Defence Fund (DG DEFIS)
Damen closely monitors the European Defense Industry Strategy (EDIS published in March 2024)
Together with our European Trade Association SEA Europe, Damen strives for a 'European Maritime Industrial Strategy' in order to safeguard high-tech shipbuilding capabilities for Europe and to sustain our strategic autonomy.
We closely follow the developments of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and the Fuel EU Maritime Directive.
Together with SEA Europe Damen wishes the European Trading Scheme revenues from shipping to be re-invested in the decarbonization of ships in order to live up to the Green Deal targets.Address

Meetings
2 meetings found. Download meetings
The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
