Goals / Remit
Climate Alliance is a European city network uniting local authorities and indigenous rainforest peoples in their efforts to mitigate climate change. Climate Alliance currently counts nearly 2,000 member municipalities and regions in more than 25 European countries. Its activities are coordinated by the European Secretariat based in Frankfurt (DE) and its Brussels office.
Climate Alliance supports its members in achieving their voluntary commitments to strive for a 95% reduction in GHG emissions by 2050 compared to 1990 levels, to implement effective and comprehensive climate action and to promote climate justice. The Brussels Office advocates for improved legal framework for local authorities and for recognising their role in the European climate and energy policy, as well as for funding opportunities for local authorities for implementing their climate actions. Climate Alliance also coordinates together with other European city networks the Covenant of Mayors initiative.Main EU files targeted

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
