Citizens for Air also wishes to bridge the gap between advocacy in favour of Clean Air and scientific reseach which is crucial to support the adoption of plans and programs that are consistent with emission reductions. Communication activities
We ordinarily contribute by participating to local, regional and national planning on issues that are linked to air quality; our ngo also carries out legal court cases to achieve implementation of air quality legislation and abidance of policies to air quality legislation. We currently have four ongoing cases 1) air quality plan of lombardy, 2) inconsistent regional measures allowing diesles euro 0, 1, 2, and three to circulate, 3) masterplan of the linate airport 4) participation to Lombardy's regional stakeholders' meetings and networking on air quality. We are also about to release the data from our citizens science campaign monitoring NO2 levels with the help of citizens in two major italian cities (Milan and Rome), we are promoting improvement of transport policies and adoption of LEZ in urban areas, while at the same time supporting change of national legislation linked to these policies (national road code). On shipping we are advocating the adoption of environmental criterias for maritime industries that provide shipping and transport services in Italy and in the Mediterranean.
We also spread information on health issues related to air quality and its impact on human health.Other activities

Meetings

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
