Goals / Remit
A global network of 11 child-focused development and humanitarian organizations, we help nearly 36 million children and their families in 70 countries. We work to end violence and exploitation against children; provide expertise in emergencies and disasters; and engage in partnership with children, families and communities to create lasting change. Our commitment, resources, and expertise are a powerful force to transform the lives of children.
Main EU files targeted
ChildFund Alliance Europe Office works to strengthen the engagement and cooperation of ChildFund Alliance with European Union (EU) institutions. ChildFund Alliance Europe Office works together with other organizations, including United Nations agencies and NGOs, to promote children’s rights as a priority in the EU’s external action.
ChildFund Alliance is a member of CONCORD, the European confederation of Relief and Development NGOs and the main interlocutor with the EU institutions on development policy.
In Brussels, ChildFund Alliance is also a member of the Children’s Rights Action Group, a coalition of 18 NGOs committed to making children’s rights a priority of the EU agenda. The coalition supports the Intergroup on Children’s Rights, the first formal body in the European Parliament that will mainstream children’s rights and promote the interests and well-being of children everywhere.
More specifically, our main legislative proposals and policies targeted are the following:
- Internal and external policies relevant to youth and children's rights (EU strategies on the rights of the child; Child Guarantee; etc.)
- Policies and Actions plans relevant to international partnerships and humanitarian aid (Youth Action Plan; Gender Action Plan; ect.)
- DG INTPA and DG ECHO programming documents
- Sections of the Multi Annual Financial Framework relevant to development cooperation and humanitarian aid.Address
