    Aurora Lithium is a recently created company that joins forces of two major players in the European Energy market: Galp SA and Northvolt. This joint-venture aims to develop a Lithium conversion plant in Portugal, with a capacity of 32kt of lithium hydroxide. The plans are moving forward, Aurora has a recent structure and has already presented their plans to several key stakeholders, demonstrating the major importance of this project for the Portuguese and European Market.

    Aurora Lithium project in Portugal is key strategic for Europe and for Carbon Neutrality. Due to this, Aurora responsible will engage in several meetings with key stakeholders from the European Union Institutions in this month, aiming to present the project and the main barriers of the project. The meetings will also be a good opportunity for Aurora to present his view regarding the European Raw Materials Act (which is under public consultation) and other relevant legislative procedures that will have a direct impact in this major project.
