The banana sector is organized into associations and cooperatives-based producers, who have a very important role in improving quality, reducing production costs and promoting common services to small and medium producers. Other major producers work under a scheme of agro-industrial companies.
ADOBANANO, acting as a second-tier organization, is an association representing small and medium producers and other large individual producers.
