    Goals / Remit

The Swedish 2030-secretariat was formed in 2013 to promote the development of a fossil fuel independent transport sector in Sweden. A goal of 70% CO2 reduction in the transport sector by 2030 was later approved by the Swedish Parliament. The 2030-secretariat consists of more than 70 partners from industry and civil society, a coalition of the willing all subscribing to the same decarbonization goal. The 2030-secretariat is politically and technologically neutral.

The secretariat works in three areas; Vehicle development, biofuels and electricity and behavioural change – all three areas important part of the societal transition. We do not select technologies, we look at greenhouse gas impact, and favour solution with little impact.

We do our work mainly in Sweden and in Bryssels.

    Complementary Information

The 2030-secretariate develops a strategu for Swedish actors towards the EU. By doing that we combine the efforts of many, and by looking far into the future, we develop a vision that transcends even governments. That way we have more impact, and contribute more than the few persons working on EU issues.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
