    Goals / Remit

    Amalipe Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance is a leading Roma organization, working for the equal integration of Roma in Bulgarian Society. The organization plays a central role in organizing a Roma civic movement and advocating for Roma integration within the state institutions. OUR GOALS are to develop capacity within the community by raising the educational level of Roma children and youth to promote the development of Roma girls and women and to overcome negative traditional practices; To develop skills for self-organization of the Roma community; To strengthen the participation of Roma in the decision-making process; Stimulating a consistent and responsible state policy, which envisages expanding the access of Roma to education, quality health care and social services, monitoring and feedback to improve policy measures and practices; Foster the emancipation of Romani women and the overcoming of harmful traditional practices such as early marriages.

    At the same time it works with more than 200 volunteers. In addition, 50 000 children and around 5000 adults were included in various activities of the organization during previous year. They are spread all over Bulgaria covering all NUTS 2 regions in Bulgaria.

    Communication activities

    Center Amalipe works on a number of international (EU) projects with partners from all over Europe. They are mostly directed to education, LLL, vocational training, anti-dicrimination, youth activities, and so on.     Center Amalipe organizes regular campaigns on local, national (and international level) for preserving Roma culture and identity, improving quality in education, antidiscrimination and a number of advocacy actions for changing policies.
    The organization produces regular monitoring reports on Roma inclusion policies and educational achievements.
    Center Amalipe publishes regular newsletter on various topics following different fields of Roma integration policies, developments and achievements, such as the impact of Covid on Roma education, etc.
    The organization supports active social media channels as part of its communication strategy to reach different target groups.
    As of December 31, 2023, Amalipe's Facebook page was liked by 3 233 people and followed by nearly 4 000 of whom 852 were new users. For the whole calendar year the page has reached 378 442 users (compared to 177 827 people for the same period in 2022). In 2023, we continued to develop Amalipe's Instagram account, creating one on TikTok and LinkedIn.
    The organization's presence on TikTok is quite good considering the short time, with the profile reaching 32,000 views and nearly 20,000 users in the period from its inception to the end of 2023. Amalipe's YouTube channel received 63,907 views during the year (an increase of 75% on the previous year), total viewing time was 124% more than the previous year and there were 238 new followers (Subscribers).
