    Goals / Remit

    CSD’s mission is “building bridges between scholars and policy-makers”. As an independent, interdisciplinary public policy institute it combines a broad range of capacities, bringing together social actors and cementing new alliances. Born as a think-tank, CSD has evolved into policy development through dialogue and partnership. Founded in late 1989, CSD is dedicated to the values of democracy and market economy, fostering the reform process in Europe through impact on policy and civil society – a leader in social research and policy analysis in Europe and the Balkans with а unique track record in managing EU-funded research and policy development. CSD employs a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary approach to complex social and policy issues in the area of good governance and anti-corruption, justice and home affairs, organised and conventional crime, hidden economy, energy and climate security, migration and radicalisation, foreign authoritarian influence and disinformation, etc.
