Goals / Remit
The Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA) S.A. is responsible for the operation, management, utilization and development of the National Natural Gas System and its interconnections, in a technically sound and economically efficient way, in order to best serve its Users with safety, reliability and adequacy.
Our vision is to consolidate DESFA as the predominant regional power in the natural gas management business and help Greece emerge as a reliable gas transport and trading hub, as a part of an interconnected, secure and economically efficient European market.
Our fundamental principle is to promote Business Excellence in every aspect of our operation.
Our objective and common responsibility is to create the highest level of added value for each one of our partners through an ethically, socially and environmentally responsible manner.

DESFA is interested in following all the EU legislative processes related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean mobility, sustainable finance, and the next recast of the gas market design legislation. DESFA also follows all the EU initiatives that promote the EU Green Deal and the energy and climate long-term transition with a vision towards 2030 - 2050, with a focus on energy security (supply and infrastructures) and energy efficiency
