The Oeko-Institut is one of Europe’s leading independent research and consultancy organizations working for a sustainable future. Founded in 1977, it develops principles and strategies for implementing the vision of sustainable development at global, national and local level. Oeko-Institut provides consultancy services for decision-makers in governments, industry and civil society on topics such as Energy Transition and Climate Policy, Just Transition, Mobility Transition, Sustainable Economy, Resources Transition, Environmental Law, Agriculture, Forests and Biodiversity, Digitalization, Nuclear Power, Chemicals Management, and Sustainable Consumption. Oeko-Institut is a non-profit association. Its financial resources come mainly from third party project-based funding.

Our e-paper "eco@work" or articles on our website - provide information about the Oeko-Institut and the latest news on our work. Press work accompanies events such as scientific conferences and our current study projects. Where words reach their limits, we increasingly supplement them with explanatory information graphics.
Through our presence in the social media Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, FlickR and Slideshare, we contribute to making the topics of Oeko-Institut accessible to a broad public.
Since 2021 Oeko-Institut produces a podcast on science for the sustainability transformation. It features Oeko-Institut’s staff and is in German. https//www.oeko.de/podcast
