Main EU files targeted
IIASA’s research provides input to EU initiatives and policies primarily in the areas of air quality and climate change. For example, IIASA’s work fed into the 2013 European Commission clean air policy package to reduce pollution and the 2014 European Commission agreed proposal for new climate and energy targets for 2030. While other IIASA research has supported EU policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and develop countries’ intended nationally determined contributions to the UN climate change negotiations.
