    La mission du GEIE est d'une part celle d'apporter son soutien à ses membres dans la mise en oeuvre d'un réseau ferrovaire commun Sécurité/Système de contrôle dans le but de permettre l'Intéroperabilite en Europe (ERTMS) et d'autrepart gérer les fonds alloués à un niveau Européen en plus des fonds nationaux le GEIE est également coordinateur du Consortium qui agit dans le contrat cadre EU-Rail OP.01.22.
