    Horia Hulubei National Institute for R&D in Physics and Nuclear Engineering (Institutul National de Cercetare-Dezvoltare pentru Fizica si Inginerie Nucleara Horia Hulubei - IFIN-HH) is committed to the advancement of the knowledge in physics, especially in sub-atomic physics, and of the use of nuclear physics for the benefit of our society, through advanced research and professional services and expertise. Our highly rated research results in some of the most exciting areas of physics can be a source of scientific knowledge and expertise to our community and an inspiring example to the young generation. Our main mission consists of:
    • Basic Research;
    • Applied Research;
    • National Laboratory: Reference expertise in the field of Nuclear Physics
    • Scientific Education.

    Main EU files targeted

    IFIN-HH is following the EU policy-making process, legislative initiatives and funding programmes related to knowledge, research & innovation, development of research infrastructures and technology transfer.
    Implementing the ELI-NP project, IFIN-HH is particularly interested in the European legal frameworks such as ERIC (the European Research Infrastructure Consortium) and in the European funding programme Horizon Europe –and is closely following on the ESFRI’s activity (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures).

    Communication activities

    ELI-NP is one of the three pillars of the European Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) that is supported by European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI).
    The collaboration agreement aims to support the implementation of ELI-NP, with the expertise available at the JRC (JRC-Geel). The agreement is promoting and strengthens transnational access to both organizations and is pursued with well defined joint research actions.
