The purpose of acquiring meetings with members of EU parliament and other relevant representatives covered under this registry is not related to any policy implementation, public relations or communication activities but mainly to introduce the beneficiaries of LEAD project (that Albanian- American Development Foundation (AADF) is currently implementing) with EU structures, priorities for Albanian and EU working procedures.

LEAD project is financed and implemented by Albanian-American Development Foundation. This project is based on the White House Fellows Program and aims to provide a unique opportunity to young, gifted Albanian professionals with first-hand experience in the process of governing Albania and a sense of personal involvement in the leadership of society. LEAD project ensures one-year Fellowship placement as Advisers to Prime Minister, President, Ministers, according to Fellows’ personal choice and preference. 10 current Fellows of the 3rd generation class are working and contributing in areas of: property rights, legal reform, industrial copyrights, foreign policy, water supply, public finance, information security, public policy review, public health etc.

This study visit to EU main institutions is part of the education component that will help these 10 fellows have a through insight of how European Union operates for specific areas of interests. Thus, considering that the purpose of this visit is merely informative rather than advocacy related, there is no participation in high level groups, consultative meetings, expert groups, intergroups nor industry forums.
