Goals / Remit
The Institute of Geotechnics of Slovak Academy of Sciences (IGT SAS) is a non-profit scientific organization with a contributory economy form founded 22nd November 1954 by Presidium of Slovak Academy of Sciences. The main objective of the IGT SAS is the basic research in the fields of Earth and environmental sciences, environmental engineering, mineral biotechnologies and nanotechnologies.
The Institute of Geotechnics SAS:
• investigates continuous disintegration of the rock mass and underground constructions stability, the transport of energy and mass in the rock disintegration processes; basic research of solid dispersions origin patterns and modification of their properties by physical, mechanical, chemical and biotechnological processes; qualitative and quantitative evaluation of phase interactions at the disperse systems origin and at their spreading in working and living environment;
• applications of theoretical knowledge from presented areas for industryMain EU files targeted

UGT SAV je členom Národnej technologickej platformy pre výskum, vývoj a inovácie surovín (NTP VVIS). Táto národná platforma je členom European Technology Platform for Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR).Communication activities
UGT SAS implements mainly basic research projects within its scope in terms of the goals and mission of the organization. It organizes scientific and professional events in the field of research focus.
Other activities
A) Slavomír Hredzák pracoval ako člen: 1) EIP-RM - European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials. Operational Group 3: Improving Europe’s Raw Materials Regulatory Framework, Knowledge Base and Infrastructure 2013-2016, 2) ERECON project - European Rare Earths Competency Network, Working Group I: Opportunities and road blocks for primary supply of rare earths in Europe, 2013. Je možné ďalšie zapojenie sa pracovníkov UGT do týchto aktivít.
B) UGT sa plánuje zapojit do aktivít EIT RawMaterials
C) Pracovníci UGT SAV hodnotia návrhy projektov H2020.
D) UGT SAV bol koordinátorom projetku FP7. V súčasnosti je členom konzorcia projektu H2020 a rieši projekty COST.
