    Goals / Remit

Production of grass-derived bio-coal for co-combustion in fossil coal power plants, steel plants.
    Objective: significant CO2 reduction

OrangeGreen plants fast-growing and high-yielding grass on marginal (under-utilised) land, initially in Mozambique, to produce CO2-neutral bio-coal, which serves as a direct sustainable substitute for fossil coal.

We refrain from using synthetic fertilisers and pesticides in our farming, but use organic soil enhancers instead. Result is complete rehabilitation of marginal land, increase in soil biodiversity. Prevention of desertification and deforestation.
Our concept copies with at least 9 out of the 17 SDGs from the UN.

As our C4-grass is perennial (roots will stay in the ground forever), the plantations will create a carbon sink, rather than a carbon debt (as in the case of woody biomass).

win-win for both the EU: CO2 reduction and the host plantation countries (employment, regenerative agriculture etc)
    Project is massively (...)
