    Goals / Remit

    A region plagued with violations where the rule of law is a casualty, strong voices are required with local and international support to halt this process. Advocacy and lobbying takes the center-stage in the region, particularly in Pakistan, where illegal arrests leading to extrajudicial killings, torture and enforced disappearances as the only means of investigation and punishment are practiced. Extensive use or rather the abuse of the ‘blasphemy laws’ leading to the suppression of the religious minorities, is another phenomenon that is taking enormous proportions is another menace that needs to be addressed. The key element in combatting all these human rights challenges in our opinion is advocacy with a call for mass mobilization.

    Jamil Maqsood is also appointed as Director for EuroAsia dialogue. To lobby in the EU - institutions for the rule of law and respect of human rights in Asian countries.
    He is Organisarion representative for Brussels & Eastern Europe since September -2018. He is also attending United Nations Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva- Switzerland. He is a vibrant human rights activist. Providing consultancy and expertise to alleviate poverty in his native area in Pakistan administered Kashmir. He is also monitoring human rights issues in different parts of Pakistan.

    The organisation was rigestered on 23-04-2018. Our organisation didn’t received any funding from any other source including EU, institutions. For the moment it’s funding is based on membership and fund individual contribution from its well wishers among south Asian diaspora.

    jamil Maqsood has participated in the meeting , committee on political affairs, human rights and democracy, committee on energy security on 25th January-2019 in the Europeen Parliament. He has also started lobbying in the European Parliament andEuropean Commission. He has briefed Mrs Barbra Riksen, DG- International cooperation and Development, Middle East, Central and South Asia in the European Commission.

    Jamil Maqsood has also participated in 42nd session of the United Nations Human Rights council from 10th to 25th September-2019. Made an oral statement as well spoke at various side events to take up the cases of human rights violations in various parts of Pakistan and Pakistani administered Kashmir. Mainly social, political and constitutional discrimination against minority communities like Ahmadyas, Hindus and Christians.
    On 10th of April -2019 attended a Roundtable in the European Parliament to discuss, Protecting Minorities in Pakistan Through EU Mechanism.

    IHRC is a newly formed organization and is highly interested to take the regional Human Rights at European Parliament and with its committees>

    Looking for lobbying with the interested groups for a joint strategy to achieve the goals of global human rights. Developing and monitoring procedures for the regional countries for the protection of the basic human rights agreed by the European commission. To further observe EU- Grant of Generalise Scheme of preferences (GSP+) with third countries mainly Pakistan.
