    Goals / Remit

The Urban Youth Games are a movement that strives to inspire excellence in children. We aim to instil values of respect, honesty and open-mindedness through sport. We believe that this force of excellence is the source of success.

The UYG are a growing movement that was built on the foundations of the Brussels UYG, held in June 2019. After a successful first sports event, with an Olympic vibe, for 1500 children, we wanted to focus on creating a durable impact.

In the fall of 2020 playbooks, which are co-created with several sports federations, will be rolled out gradually in several Belgian schools. Through the playbook gym teachers are encouraged to implement sports exercises designed to promote inclusivity. The UYG also support cities/districts and schools to set-up challenges among each other. In 2021 the UYG will host 3 regional events: in Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia. In 2022 we'll organise one national event before inviting other European countries to join the movement.
