Communication activities
Research and Report on Tobacco Products Directive: Through the introduction of the Tobacco Products Directive (2014/40/EU) the European Union aims to improve the functioning of the internal market for tobacco and related products, while ensuring a high level of health protection for European citizens. We have an interest in advocating for and sharing knowledge on harm reduction and therefore must continually examine existing information and materials and consult with experts and decision makers. Our new advocacy strategy suggests a necessity to better understand the current state of play within the EU Institutions by conducting a European Research Paper on the State of Play and Opinion Survey of the European Parliament Members, their group delegations and advisors. An independent survey of Members of the European Parliament on a range of questions that would uncover many of the predominating views within the Parliament and help assess the barriers and potential problematic issues for the future. Subsequently, Policy Uncovered will assess the results and compile the report which would be enriched by contributions from industry and policy experts.
