    Goals / Remit

Pollinate Sweden is a network working to raise awareness and spread knowledge through our concepts Pollination Week and Pollinator of the Year.
Our mission is that the full value of pollination shall be well known, and that researchers, farmers, beekeepers, gardeners, organisations, authorities, food producers and companies who engage in the issue will be appreciated for their work.

We launched the concept National Pollination Week in May 2017 and have since got increasing attention for
pollination and pollinators both from the public, our
network and media. Through coordinated events we have developed a campaign that grows from year to year,
and that makes people all over the country engage in
    different activities.
During Pollination Week 2019 we arranged a Pollinator Forum with invited experts. In May 2020 we will publish a Pollination Guide for the public.

    Reaching out to Europe
In spring 2019 Pollinate Europe started a collaboration with the business chain Plantagen, which is leading in garden supply in Norway, Sweden and Finland. Through an instore campaign we will help their customers to choose the right plants, trees and seeds to support pollinating insects. Read more: pollinateeurope.org

    Main EU files targeted

After building a national network in Sweden we are just beginning to reach out to Europe.
Taking part in the conference "Halting the loss of pollination" arranged by IEEP is our first step.
Lotta Fabricius Kristiansen also works as a leader for the EIP-Agri focus group Bee Health and Sustainable Beekeeping and is one of 15 members of COLOSS, the international network that cooperates on research on bees and beekeeping.
Pollinate Sweden will interact with EU Pollinators Initiative and other EU institutions who work with ecosystem services, supporting pollinators at landscape level including all involved stakeholders. Financing partly comes from the national Honey programme.

    Communication activities

We are launching a Pollination Guide for children and the curious public in May 2020. The guide will also be spread in Norway and Finland though our cooperation with Plantagen
    https://www.plantagen.com.
We are also arranging a National Conference on Pollination 13–14 of May in cooperation with the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
In May we will for the third time launch our concept Pollination Week together with our network, and our jury will chose and reward Pollinator of the Year 2020.
During all this we work continuously with press and social media, which has been very successful in getting attention for our mission.

    Other activities

We are taking part in the conference "Halting the loss of pollinators" arranged by IEEP 21st of February 2020.
One of our Swedish farmers will talk about his work in planting for the bees and what is to be gained from that.
