    Euromontana est l’association Européenne multisectorielle pour la coopération et le développement des territoires de montagne. Elle rassemble des organisations nationales, régionales et locales de différents pays de l’Europe: agences de développement régional, collectivités territoriales, organisations agricoles,agences environnementales, organisations forestières et instituts de recherche.

    La mission d’Euromontana est de promouvoir des montagnes vivantes en œuvrant pour le développement global et durable et l’amélioration de la qualité de vie.

    Pour ce faire, Euromontana facilite l’échange d’informations et d’expériences entre ces territoires à travers l’organisation de séminaires et de conférences, la réalisation et l’encadrement d’études et de projets européens et par une bonne collaboration avec les institutions européennes sur les problématiques liées à la montagne.

    - Représenter les communautés de montagne en entretenant des liens réguliers avec les institutions européennes, les gouvernements nationaux, et les instances inter-gouvernementales gouvernant les massifs; en étant force de proposition dans la révision des politiques européennes qui impactent les montagnes, en élaborant ces propositions avec l’ensemble des membres de façon à ce qu’elles soient représentatives et riches.
    - Promouvoir les richesses des montagnes et la valeur ajoutée pour l’Europe d’investissements durables dans ces territoires : par l’organisation d’événements (conférences, séminaires, rencontres, assises…) et la publication d’articles et de rapports.
    - Organiser la coopération entre les montagnards par le montage et la gestion de projets européens (Recherche, coopération territoriale, formation, échanges…) ; par l’animation de discussions et d’échanges entre membres sur des thèmes d’actions prioritaires.
    - Réaliser, participer à la réalisation ou la collecte d’études qui enrichissent la connaissance collective sur la situation des zones de montagne et les orientations à prendre pour leur développement durable.
