    Goals / Remit

    Fair prices and taxes to make the production and consumption of meat and dairy more sustainable. Concrete:

    1. Reducing the production and consumption of livestock (meat, dairy etc.) because of the consequences on the public health, environment, nature and animal wellbeing.

    2. Promotion of governments and companies to implement measures that will result in consumers and others paying the ‘true price’ of food (from livestock), including external and societal costs for public health, the environment, climate, nature and
    animal wellbeing.

    3. Conducting all other business that is related to these above mentioned aims.

    TAPP contributes to SDG goals 1, 2, 3, 5, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16 and 17.

    - European Green Deal (EC) incl. Farm to Fork and Biodiversity strategy

    - Promoting policies and research for a True Price for food

    - True Pricing and Fair Food Tax: EU facilitation of MS to introduce true pricing mechanisms for animal protein products (including CO2 taxes)

    - EU proposal on VAT rates: allowing MS to make more targeted use of rates, for instance to support organic fruit and vegetables.

    - Common Agriculture Policy (CAP): redistributing EU subsidies towards sustainable food producers.

    - ‘Minced meat directive’: EU Directive on the Promotion of use of plant-based proteins in food.

    - ‘Supermarket directive’: EU Directive for the Reduction of food related greenhouse gas emissions.

    The assets and results of the TAPP Coalition during the foundation year 2019 were primarily stemming from income from fundraising and costs regarding outsourced research and events. Out of the total fundraising, an important part was spent on research. TAPP receives also partner contributions in persona and time contributions through volunteers.
