    Goals / Remit

    Inclusion Europe represents 20 million people with intellectual disabilities and their family members from 39 countries.
    People with intellectual disabilities and family members are directly represented in governing bodies and activities of Inclusion Europe.
    Inclusion Europe was founded in 1988.
    Since 2000, the European Platform of Self-Advocates is part of Inclusion Europe. It promotes self-representation and direct participation of people with intellectual disabilities in European policy-making.
    We contribute to EU policy-making a to the implementation of the EU Disability Rights Strategy, Social Pillar and other initiatives by contributing in consultations, participating at events, and by promoting them to national level.
    We cooperate with the Council of Europe, contributing to reports, toolkits.
    We contribute to the implementation of the UN CRPD.
